Ms. Wynette Briley Bullington, age 82 of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 15, 2023. Born in Jacksonville, (Telfair County) Georgia to the late John Calvin Briley and Rosella Selph Briley, Ms. Wynette was a longtime local resident. She spent some time working as a clerk in the insurance industry, but her true calling and priority was that of a caregiver. Having all three of her children born with spinal muscular atrophy, Ms. Wynette was a devoted mother and full-time caregiver to them. She babysat and influenced many children over the years and was known as the “neighborhood mama”. She also cared for her children’s father in the last year of his life and for her older sister, Kathleen, in the last six months of her life. Ms. Wynette was a member of Wayside Assembly of God in Jacksonville and an officer of the First Coast Chapter of Special Touch Ministries where she volunteered her time and care at their summer camp “Get Aways”. There, she was affectionately known as “Mama B”. She served as a bookkeeper and board member at church and played the organ and accordion. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, computer games, and cooking. Her care and dedication will be truly missed. She is survived by her daughter: Lori Bullington of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Chris (Candace) Manasco Sr., Amanda (Timmy) Hart, and Brittany Manasco all of Jacksonville; great grandchildren: Chris “CJ” Manasco Jr., Caleb Manasco, Ciara Manasco, Natalie Martin, Jasmine Johnson, Robert Hart, Trace Manasco, and Allyson Bailey; sister: Maxine Odum of Jacksonville; and grandsons-in-law: Andrew Delgross of Baldwin and Hank Bailey of Lake City. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons: Charles Patrick Bullington Jr. and Mark Steven Bullington; sisters: Christeen Towns, Gladys Cooper, Kathleen Durden, and Jeannette Spaur; and brothers: John E. “Bud” Briley, Homer Briley, and Jacob Clarence “JC” Briley. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the chapel at Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverends Wade C. Mask and Ralph Horne officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Monday, October 23, 2023, at Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin.
