Mr. Willard Ivey Powers, age 87 of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 10, 2020. Having lived in Jacksonville for most of his life, he was born in Tifton, Georgia to the late Ivey and Emma Evors Powers. Mr. Powers was a United States Air Force Veteran and after completion of his service he spent many years as a truckdriver. He was a longtime member of Edgewood Full Gospel Church and loved attending there. Mr. Powers also enjoyed attending camp meetings and recording and distributing gospel music to share his love of God. He dearly loved his wife and family and was well loved in return. He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years: Vera Ann Powers of Jacksonville; sons: Mike (Karen) Powers of Macclenny, Bobby Powers of Jacksonville, Ricky (Gladys) Powers of Keystone Heights, and Chuck (Cindy) Powers of Jacksonville; daughter: Cheryl (Jesse) Brown of Bailey, NC; brother: Richard (Mary Grace) Evors of Panama City; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson: Jason Brown. Funeral services will be held graveside, 11:00am, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville with Reverend J. R. McGuire officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Monday, December 14, 2020 in the chapel at Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin. Warren Funeral Services is honored to serve the Powers family.
