Mr. Walter C. “Walt” Adams, age 79 of Bryceville, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020. He was born in Jacksonville to the late Walter Frank and Virginia Hesters Adams and was a thirty five year Bryceville resident. Having grown up with a passion for short wave radios, he opened a TV and radio repair shop after fulfilling his service in the United States Navy. He was an avid collector of short wave radios and postage stamps. Mr. Adams was a talented artist and loved to surprise his friends by giving his drawings as tokens of friendship and appreciation. An animal lover, he enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels around his home and was especially fond of his dogs. He was known as a “people person”; a happy, peace loving man who loved God and attending church when his health allowed. Mr. Adams was most happy working in the woodshop with his nephew, Clay. He held a special appreciation for his caregivers at Fresenius Kidney Care in Macclenny and loved bringing candy for them when he had appointments. He is survived by his caregivers: nephew, Clayton Hickox and niece, Cindy Hickox, both of Bryceville; sons: Eddie (Brenda) Adams and David (Debbie) Adams, all of Jacksonville; brother: William Adams of Jacksonville, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: James Adams, sister: Ruth Hickox and brother-in-law: Eddie Hickox. A private graveside service will be held and a public celebration will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Adams’ family requests donations be made to Nassau County Animal Services.
