Mr. Richard E. Nolan, age 67 of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021. A lifelong Jacksonville resident, he was born to the late James J. and Elizabeth Jacob Nolan. Mr. Nolan served in the National Guard Reserve and was a member of New Beginnings Ministries of Jacksonville. He was a longtime employee and union representative for Beauty Rest Mattress Manufacturing before the company relocated. He was an avid Florida State Seminole fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a man that loved working with his hands and found that he had a natural talent for woodworking and building furniture. Mr. Nolan was a devoted husband and family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and always wore a smile. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years: Shirley Nolan; children: James Nolan, Richard K. Nolan, Quentin Nolan, and Stephanie Sullivan, all of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Ty Sullivan, Ethan Nolan, Bryce Nolan, and Logan Nolan; and brother: James Douglas (Teresa) Nolan of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Robert Nolan. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin. Interment will follow at Sellers Cemetery, Halsema Road, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
