Ms. Kathleen B. Durden, age 91 of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born in Telfair County, Georgia to the late John Calvin and Rosella Selph Briley. Ms. Durden had a lengthy career working for Southern Bell and Blue Cross Blue Shield. An accomplished seamstress, she also spent many years working for Sears and Fabric King. She and her husband pastored churches in the Assemblies of God for many years. They pioneered St. John’s Bluff Assembly of God and Baldwin Assembly of God Churches. Ms. Durden was also an avid reader. She is survived by her sisters: Maxine Odum of Hazlehurst, GA and Wynette Bullington of Jacksonville; husband: Reverend Marion Durden of McRae, GA; son: Joel W. Durden of McRae, GA; Grandchildren: Shawn Durden, Daniel (April) Durden, Carolyn (Steve) Seigler, Christopher Durden, Joshua (Maritza) Thompson, and Joseph Thompson; Great Grandchildren: Nicole Durden, Richard Phillips, Brittany Phillips, Kaitlyn Seigler, Mary Rose Seigler, Steven Seigler, Olivia Durden, Mahayla Durden, Joshua Thompson, Jr. and Marisele Thompson; her faithful canine companion: Chloe and her beloved caregiver and great niece: Brittany Manasco. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Christeen Towns, Gladys Cooper, and Jeannette Spaur; brothers: John E. “Bud” Briley, Homer Briley, and Jacob Clarence “J. C.” Briley; children: Barry Alan Durden, Gary Michael Durden, and Rebekah Durden Thompson; and great granddaughter: Hayley Durden. Funeral services will be held 9:30am, Friday, February 19, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverend Wade Mask officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
