Joel Isaiah Hobbs

Joel Isaiah Hobbs, age 11 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022. Joel was an intelligent and creative child with a love of the outdoors, reading and music. He was fascinated with the mechanics of how things work; always reading about different machines and gadgets. He enjoyed building Lego sets and playing with dogs and lizards. He also loved trucks and could point out the year, make, and model of most of the ones he’d see. Joel loved to write, create, and illustrate comic books and play Minecraft video games. His love of the outdoors was apparent in his enjoyment of climbing trees, going swimming, riding his side-by-side in the woods with his family and friends, or just sitting in the grass and enjoying a Sprite. He loved his family and was very dedicated to spending time with his Nanny. He was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 77 and will receive the Spirit of the Eagle Award.  Joel is survived by his grandfather: Bobby Joel Hobbs of Panama City; his grandmother: Minnie Wynell Hobbs of Jacksonville; and siblings: Cami, Cali, and Luke. Joel resided with his loving family who will forever cherish their time with him: his aunt and uncle: Stephanie and Larry Goodrich and Catherine, Matthew, Laura, Brian, Elizabeth, Josh, Christina, Darren, Caydon, Savannah, and Lofton. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kevin Joel Hobbs and Crystal Lynn Hobbs; and his sister: Lydia. Funeral services will be held privately, and Joel will be laid to rest with his family in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, The Humane Society, or DLC Nurse and Learn, Inc. (Dlcnl.org ).
