James “Jay” Ernest Dixon, age 64 of Jacksonville, passed peacefully from this life into eternal life in Heaven on Monday, July 27, 2020 following a courageous battle with cancer. He enjoyed watching and playing all sorts of sporting activities, traveling with his wife and spending time with his loyal dog, Dixon. He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Cindy Dixon; mother: Jackie; children: Erika (Rick) Alley of Jacksonville Beach, Danielle Ware of Middleburg, and Chris (Katrina) Blantz of Jacksonville; three brothers; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and countless other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm, Friday, July 31, 2020 at Whitehouse Baptist Church, located at 24 Celery Ave. N. Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor Bronson Clemens officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, located at 800 Hammond Blvd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Whitehouse Baptist Church to help continue their mission of reaching the community for Jesus.
