Mr. George William Streetman, age 92 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023. A forty-year Jacksonville resident, he was originally from Athens, Georgia. Mr. Streetman was a longtime employee of Craig’s Dairy Farm on Beaver Street before going to work at Allstate Steel where he worked until the time of his retirement. He was a Christian man of the Baptist faith and a devoted family man. Mr. Streetman volunteered with the Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department and was known as a man who was willing to help anyone in need. He was an avid NASCAR and professional wrestling fan who also enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends. He is survived by his children: William Streetman of Jacksonville, Mary Smith (Bud Beasley) of Baldwin, Robert (Samantha) Streetman of Jacksonville, Dorothy Wilkerson of Macclenny, and Georgetta (Joe) Schroeder of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Richard (Sophie) Smith Jr. and Jennifer Smith, all of Jacksonville; great grandchildren: Elijah Schroeder, Skyler Schroeder, Lacey Hamilton, Mollie Smith, Richard Smith III, Riley Smith, and Carolyn Smith, and his faithful chihuahua, “Baby”. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Mollie Mae Streetman and granddaughter: Lillie Smith. Graveside services will be held 10:00am, Friday, July 21, 2023, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville with Reverend Rick Miracle officiating.
