Mrs. Edith Jewell “Jewell” Silcox, beloved wife of (deceased) Calvin Coye Silcox, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2024, at the age of 95.
Jewell was born and raised in Lake City, Florida by William C., and Viola Bullard on July 24, 1928. Jewell was a proud member of Whitehouse Baptist Church for 56 years where she devoted her time to serving others. She was a loving mother to her children. A kind and generous woman, she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren with ice cream sundaes, and her sense of humor brought so much joy to those around her. She is survived by her daughter: Judith Petty O’Connor; sons: George Randal (Theresa) Petty and Timothy Leroy (Susan) Petty; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Calvin C. Silcox; parents: William C. and Viola Bullard; son: Charles Edward Petty; and son-in-law: Tom O’Connor. Jewell will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Silcox will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the chapel at Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverend Bronson Clemens officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin is honored to serve the Silcox family.
