Mrs. Anna Lee Johns, age 89 of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021. A lifelong resident, Mrs. Johns was born to the late Alfred and Mary Harris Ellison. A loving homemaker, Mrs. Johns’ family was the joy of her life. Though she survived many tragic family losses, she remained a very strong, loving, kindhearted woman. Mrs. Johns touched a lot of lives, including many of the neighborhood children. She truly was like a mother to all. She had a sense of humor and loved to laugh and told many interesting stories. Mrs. Johns enjoyed bluegrass gospel music and bible studies in her home. She was loved and will be missed by many. She is survived by her sons: William “Bill” (Doreen) Johns of Glen St. Mary, Michael (Pam) Johns of Jacksonville, Terry Johns of Jacksonville, and Kenneth (Karen) Johns of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and her sister: Gladys Hart of Macclenny. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: James Johns, her children: Sylvia Johns, Jimmy Johns, Randy Johns, and Don Johns, and her siblings: Bartley Ellison, Rhoda Dearman, Ruth Sellers, Stanley Ellison, Cora Taylor, Leola Rhoden, James Ellison, Leonard Ellison, and Arthur Ellison. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, September 24, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin. Interment will follow at Sellers Cemetery, Halsema Road, Jacksonville.
