Funeral Services for William Everett Davis (89) of Bryceville, Florida will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Brandy Branch Baptist Church with pastor Rusty Bryan officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery. Everett was born August 18, 1925 at a log camp in Alden Community near Lafayette, County, FL, son of the late W.M. "Bill" Davis and the former Gladys Williams. He passed away April 2, 2015 following a brief illness. Everett was reared in Baker County, attending and graduating from Sanderson High School in 1943. Shortly after graduation he was inducted in the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. In 1986 he retired from CSX as an Assistant Roadmaster with the Roadway Department. After retirement he and his wife Lydia traveled in their motor home and attended many bluegrass festivals and shows. In addition to his wife of 70 years, Lydia Ann Davis, survivors include: two sons; Sheron (Carolyn) Davis and Duwayne (Claudia) Davis; one daughter, Joan (Dwight) Braddock; three grandchildren, Randy (June) Braddock, LeAnn Davis and Alysia (Vance) Prestwood; four great grandchildren, Trenton Braddock, Faith Braddock, Isabelle Prestwood and Logan Prestwood; numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, Winston, Ralph and Ora Davis. Those serving as pallbearers include: Randy Crews, Johnny Milton, Scott Davis, Gary Barber, Joey Shook and Jimmy Crews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday , April 3, 2015 at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated but those choosing may make a donation in his honor to the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency research program in Gainesville, FL or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
