William Stanley “Billy” Newsom

NEWSOM- Funeral services for William Stanley Newsom "Billy" (80) of Baldwin, Florida will be held 10 am, Friday, March 11, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drum officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville, Florida with military honors. Mr. Newsom was born July 23, 1935 in Baldwin, Florida, son of the late Joseph Newsom and the former Irene Ryan. He passed away on March 7, 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida following a lengthy illness. Mr. Newsom retired from CSX Railroad after 46 years of service. Mr. Newsom is survived by his wife, Veronica Newsom; daughter, Debbie (N.H.) Boyd; three sons, Keith Newsom, Scott (Erica) Newsom and Damon Agostino; sisters Norma Rowe and Marjorie Crews; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous extended family and friends. Those serving as pallbearers include: Albert Crews, Nathan Boyd Jr., Michael Ricks, Matthew Linger, Baylor Newsom and Stone Newsom. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home.
