Virginia Louise "June" (Starling) Mizell

Mrs. Virginia Louise "June" Mizell, age 81 of Lawtey, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020. She was born in Lawtey, Florida to the late Willis and Letha Denmark Starling.  Having worked in retail until her retirement,  Mrs. Mizell became a homemaker. She thoroughly enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with friends. She loved traveling, spending time outdoors and shopping.  She was a woman with a helpful, sweet demeanor and always put others first. She is survived by her husband of sixty three years: Lonnie Amos Mizell; daughters: Sharon (Terry) Mizell-Smith and Jeanne Hodge, all of Lawtey; son: Lonnie David (Tanya) Mizell of Raiford; brother: Donnie (Lynda) Starling of Callahan; sister: Bonnie Faye Ellison of Jacksonville; and grandchildren: Bruce Siemer, Cody Smith, Shannon Ash, Jennifer Lee and Kristen Newman. Five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 at Otis Road Church of God, Jacksonville with Pastor Stephen Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Sellers Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
