Born on March 31, 1935, in Jacksonville, Florida, Vera lived a life rich with love and purpose. In her final moments, she left this world surrounded by her family, evoking the warmth and connection that defined her essence.

Vera was a proud and loving mother of five children, cherishing each moment spent with them. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who carry forward the enduring values of love and compassion she instilled in them. Vera had an extraordinary ability to touch the lives of everyone she met, embodying strength and courage through each challenge. Despite the aches and pains that life brought her way, she faced every day with a spirit of determination and hope.

Throughout her life, Vera worked at numerous jobs, including the trucking industry, often holding down two positions while raising her beloved family. Her dedication was unwavering, as she balanced the demands of work with her passion for collecting glassware—a hobby that brought her immense joy. Vera was also deeply involved in her church, playing piano for services and teaching Sunday school at every place of worship she attended. She retired from her role at Old Plank Baptist Church, where she dedicated over twenty years to nurturing the spiritual growth of her community's children.

In addition to her church activities, Vera had a fascination with computer graphics. She became a member of a graphics club that allowed her to share her creativity and expertise with people all around the world. Through her artistry, she communicated her love, knowledge, and wisdom, leaving a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to connect with her work.

Vera Jeffries will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family invites friends and community members to pay their respects at the upcoming services held at Old Plank Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. A viewing will be held on December 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Her journey will culminate in burial at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on January 2, 2026, at 2:30 PM.
