BATTEN - Funeral Services for Silas Batten (74) of St. George, GA will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the First Baptist of St. George with Pastor James Conner officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Emmaus Cemetery; St. George, GA. Mr. Batten was born September 20, 1933 in Charlton County, GA, son of the late Silas Batten, Sr. and the former Annie Janie Williams. He passed away August 29, 2008 in Hilliard, FL. In addition to his wife, Betty Jo Batten, survivors include: Three Sons, Wayne (Mary) Batten, Lee (Tonya) Batten and Kenny (Saumita) Batten; Brother, John H. Batten; Two Sisters, Maveene Crews and Ereveene (Harvey) Gainey; Six Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friend from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home.
