Funeral services for Ronald Owen Jacobs (56) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Old Plank Road Baptist Church with brother Garland Whaley officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, Florida. Ronnie was born on September 6, 1955 in Blackshear, Georgia, son of the late Lester Elijah Jacobs and the former Annie Ophelia Sapp. He passed away on November 3, 2011 at his home and surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness. In addition to his wife, Janet Miller Jacobs, he is survived by: mother, Annie Ophelia Sapp Jacobs; two sons, Marshal Owen Jacobs and James Elliot Jacobs; grandson, Aiden Elijah Jacobs; four granddaughters, Madison Elysa, Marissa Kalyn, Aeris Fay and Victoria Lynn; four sisters, Barbara (Harry) Pounds, Jean (Garland) Whaley, Ann (Wayne) Dill and Loretta (John) Sanford; two brothers, Jerry (Phyllis) Jacobs and Donnie (Terri) Jacobs. Those serving as pallbearers include: Ken Adams, Chris Goodman, Bradley Sanford, Richie Walden, Joey Sweat and D.J. Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers include: Robbie Wasdin, Eddie Sapp, Steve Sweat, Greg Sweat, Wesley Miller, Johnny Jacobs, Joseph McQueen and Roger Chesser. The famil will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011 at Old Plank Road Baptist Church.
