Robert Chris Hewett

Mr. Robert "Chris" Hewett, age 64 passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, after a brief illness.  Chris will be remembered as a giving, down to earth man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was devoted to his children, his grandchildren and to his best friend, Bandit, his fur baby. Chris loved being outdoors hunting and fishing and made regular donations to the Wildlife Association. A very patriotic man, he also donated to Wounded Warrior Project. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening. He had a green thumb and could grow anything. Chris is survived by his daughters: Christina Hewett of Baldwin and Brittani Hewett (Danny Bryant) of Florahome; son: J. R. Sapp of Florahome; grandchildren: Trinity, Nevaeh, Kayden, Nora, Cristian, Savannah, and Kashton; mother: Ann Hewett of Jasper; sisters: Kim (Joey) Fouraker of Bryceville and Annise (Gene) Smith of Jasper; and brother: Greg Hewett of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his father: Cecil Hewett. A celebration of his life will be held 11:00am, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Otis Road Church of God with Reverend Cynthia Mosley and Pastor Stephen Thomas officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sellers Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at 10:00am, the morning of the service at the church.
