Bryceville

Ricky E. Driver, of Bryceville, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025 at his home after an extended illness, with his family at his side.

Rick was born in Jacksonville to Gene Driver and Belle Flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Bill Gillis.

Rick served his country as an 82nd airborne division Ranger for the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC. He went on to work as a mechanic for Crowley Maritime, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service.

Rick's biggest passion was hunting, especially with his son, Ricky. He was a longtime member of Big Swamp and Hilliard Hunting Club; and a lifetime member of his present club, Corncob Island. All of Rick's hunting buddies knew him as Taz. He always had a great appreciation for life and being outdoors. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, watching classic Western movies, listening to old country music, and cheering on the Georgia Dawgs with Cris.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cris Driver; their son, Ricky (Emily) Driver of Bryceville; brother, Earl (Brittany) Driver of Jacksonville; daughter, Tanya (Jason) Reed of Hilliard; grandchildren, Phillip, Madison, and Lauren; nephew, Derek; niece, Amanda; and many more beloved family and friends.
