Funeral services for Raeford Dale Wallace Sr. (85) of Baldwin, Florida will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drum officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will immediately follow in Boones Creek Cemetery, St. George, Georgia. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy honor guard. Mr. Wallace was born on August 18, 1930 in Palmerville, North Carolina, son of the late William James Wallace and the former Ann Cooper. Following his Navy service he owned and operated the Western Auto Parts store in Baldwin, Florida for many years. He passed away following a brief illness on October 5, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Zelma Stokes Wallace, survivors include: three sons, Raeford Dale Wallace Jr., Steven Victor Wallace, David (Kara) William Wallace; sister, Louetta Cable; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous extended family and friends. Those serving as pallbearers include: Timothy J. Wallace, Christopher S. Wallace, Nathaniel J. Wallace, Jaron D. Wallace, Raeford D. Wallace III, and Tyler C. Wallace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to the First Baptist Church of Baldwin.
