PORTZER - Pearl T. (Norton) Portzer, 89, departed to her heavenly home on November 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 19, 1923 in Baldwin, Florida and lived most of her life in the Lackawanna/Riverside area. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jim & Emma (Dowling) Norton; son, Tommy Russell; daughter, Judy (Portzer) Nankivil; granddaughter, Cheryl Lynn Russell; brother, J.D. Norton; sisters, Ruby Willis & Rosalee O'Steen. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger H. Portzer; sister, Ethel Peeples; daughters, Kathy Moody (Marvin); Leona Colley (Dennis) and Bonnie Madden; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grands; 2 great-great grands; numerous nieces nephews & cousins. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, granny, and caregiver to others in need. She was an excellent cook, avid Jaguar fan, and always had her tackle box ready to go fishing. Many heartfelt thanks to Community Hospice and the staff of Macclenny Nursing & Rehab for their compassionate care of "Ms. Pearl". Graveside services will be held at Brandy Branch Cemetery in Bryceville, Florida on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. with Rev. Larry McGinley officiating.
