Owen Hampton Thomas

Owen H. Thomas went home to Jesus on May 21, 2021 at age 87. Owen was born to Wade "Hamp" Thomas and Eva Esther (Sikes) on January 6, 1934 in Kent, Florida. Owen met his wife, Laverne Moore in 1953 at Jones Business College in Jacksonville, Florida. They married on January 29, 1954 and went on to have 2 children, Deborah Ann and Daniel Owen. Anyone who knew Owen knew that he was the sweetest, most loving husband, father, and "papa" a family could ask for. In addition to being a dedicated and loving father and papa, Owen also loved gardening, Florida Gator football and telling hilarious "dad jokes." Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Owen joins his parents and 11 brothers and sisters in Heaven. He is survived by sister Dorothy McPherarson, wife Laverne, daughter Debbie and her husband Danny Boyd, son Daniel and his wife Misty, 4 grandchildren; Douglas Allen and wife Cami, Deanne Lynn and husband Steve, Kori Lynn, Kacie Grace and 13 great grandchildren; Addisyn Kate, Brock Thomas, McKinley Faith, Carrigan Faith, Maislyn Grace, Lanie Hope, Lane Randall, Rylan Kendall, Kensi Suzanne, Theophilus Owen and Zayne Henry. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
