Ms. Mossie Lee Starling, age 82 of Baldwin, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Originally from Harland County, Kentucky, she was a sixty year Baldwin resident. Ms. Starling was a talented seamstress and was employed by Tom’s Sewing Factory in Glen St. Mary for twenty years. She was known for her bridal creations in Baldwin, Middleburg, and Baker County. At the time of her retirement, she was employed by the Baker County Sheriff’s Department as a cook. Ms. Starling enjoyed singing at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin, where she was a member. She also attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Middleburg for a time. She enjoyed playing cards and attending the Senior Center in Baldwin. Ms. Starling was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son: Jeff (Annie) Blanton of Jacksonville; sister: Theresa (Rayborn) Thrift of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Brandi (Jared) Johnson of Raiford; Brandon Blanton and Tia Blanton both of Jacksonville; and great grandchildren: Dylan Coppock, Leeryc Barton, Lannyc Barton, and Kyelynn Johnson. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Starling; parents: John and Vergie Adams; brother: Harold Adams; and sister: Juanita Morris. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the chapel at Prestwood Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Drum officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Middleburg. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
