Mary Colleen Gamble, age 84 of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2019, following a lengthy illness. Ms. Gamble was born October 1, 1934 in LaGrange, Georgia, daughter of the late Harold Legg and Effie Williams Legg. Ms. Gamble retired from 1-2-1 Credit Union (formerly Telco) after 37 years of service. After her retirement, she became the church secretary at Whitehouse Baptist Church and served in that capacity for 20 years up until her death. Ms. Gamble was devoted to her Lord, her church and her family. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and shopping for antiques. Survivors include two daughters: Carol (Gary) Crews and Cathy (Richard) Hodgson, all of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty two years: Clifton Gamble and her daughter: Connie Lanier Addington. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the chapel at Prestwood Funeral Home, Baldwin, with Reverend Bronson Clemens officiating. Interment will follow at Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
