Funeral Services for Myrtis Thomas Williams (89) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Otis Road Church of God (801 Otis Road) with Rev. Paul Hartley, Rev. Doyle Williams and Rev. Stephen Thomas officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Seller Cemetery with Rev. Bob Tebow and Rev. Gerald Powers officiating. Mrs. Williams was born May 7, 1920, daughter of the late Spencer Thomas and the former Mary Fouraker. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2009, peacefully from her home. A native of Macclenny, Florida, she has lived on the westside of Jacksonville since 1938 and was a faithful member of Otis Road Church of God. She leaves behind: five daughters, Mary (Bill) Sage, Carolyn Williams, Linda (David[deceased]) Rikard, Janet (Phil) McCargo and Terry (Thomas) Braddock; two sons, Ted (Sue) Williams and Robert Williams; beloved adopted son, Eddie Bell; eight grandchildren, Debi Jo, B.J., Renee, Kathy, Phillip, T.J., Clint and Trish; fourteen great grandchildren, Cari, Ashley, Trey, Haley, Kala, Kalee, Troy, Dalton, Lauren, Trevor, Chase, Trent, Nicole and Briar; two great great grandchildren, Emmi and Shaylee; Sister, Esther Fletcher; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by: Husband, Arthur Williams; son, Bud Williams; two brothers, Riley and Rudolph. Those serving as pallbearers include: Phillip McCargo, T.J. Braddock, B.J. Sage, Robert Crawford, C.J. Noles and Clint Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Riker and Jack Hausler. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home.
