Michael "Mike" Wayne Starling

Mr. Michael "Mike" Wayne Starling, age 65 of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024. A Jacksonville native, Mike was a 1979 Paxon High School graduate. An avid sports fan, Mike loved the Florida Gators, Atlanta Braves, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He enjoyed being at home, spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. To his family, Mike was a kind and gentle soul. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by his mother: Pauline Prescott of Jacksonville; brothers: Roland (Sheryl) Starling of Jacksonville, Marvin (Tina L.) Prescott of Jacksonville, and Tony Prescott of Macclenny; nieces: Kristina (David) McGinley and Lexie Prescott, all of Jacksonville; nephews: Roland H. (Shelley) Starling of Baldwin, Michael Watson, Anthony Prescott, and Gavin Prescott, all of Jacksonville; and eight great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers: Roland G. Starling Jr. and Berry Prescott, and his niece: Kristin Rose Daniels. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date.
