Funeral services for Melba Jean Jacobs (62) of DeLeon Springs, Florida will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drum officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville, Florida. Mrs. Jacobs was born in Macclenny, Florida on August 20, 1951, daughter of the late Melvin Foster Rhoden and the former Rosa Lee Wright. She passed away on June 6, 2014 following a lengthy illness. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Larry David Jacobs, survivors include: two daughters, Sheila (Mark) Melton and Michelle (Chris) Newman; son, John (Lisa) Jacobs; seven grandchildren, Lee, Koty, Megan, Chance, Cameron, Cassidy and Jake; two sisters, Vera Jones and Martha (Delvin) Johnson; five brothers, Calvin Rhoden, Ray (Diane) Rhoden, John (Janice) Rhoden, Terry (Geri) Rhoden and Kirk Rhoden; numerous extended family and friends. Mrs. Jacobs was the owner/operator of the DeLeon Springs Beauty Salon. Those serving as pallbearers include: Johnnie Jacobs, Timothy Jacobs, Brandon Hunt, Dustin Hunt, Ray Rhoden, Remington Rhoden, John Rhoden and Jimmy Todd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
