Funeral service for Mary Frances Evans (91) of Baldwin, Florida will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Pastor Debbie Halcomb of Baldwin United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service. The interment will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at the West Bay Cemetery in West Bay, Florida. Mrs. Evans was born on April 8, 1918 in West Bay, Florida, daughter of the late James A. Buchanan and the former Mary McCarthey. She passed away on November 5, 2009 following a lengthy illness. Her survivors include: daughter, Joy (Les) Hall; granddaughter, Leslie (Scott) Blanchett; Grandson, James (Carol) Hall; four great grandchildren, Andy, Matt, Emma and Maria; three sisters, Farris Simmons, Dolly Dowdy and Margie Pate; numerous family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc., P.O. BOX 2000, Boys Ranch, Florida 32064-9984 in memory of Mary Frances Evans.
