Mary Charlotte Boyd Goolsby

October 7, 1939 — March 14, 2025

Mary Charlotte Boyd Goolsby, born October 7, 1939, went to her eternal heavenly home Friday, March 14, 2025.

Beloved wife, mother, Meme, and friend, Mary passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her devoted husband Bobby Goolsby, with whom she shared 66 beautiful years, and her three cherished children: Chrissie (Marc) Southworth, Sue (Ron) Richardson, and Paul (Kim) Goolsby.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Nellie Boyd, her son Garland Goolsby, her brother Cryton Boyd, and infant granddaughter Jessica Sue Southworth. She is survived by her brother Jimmy (Terri) Boyd, along with six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Eustis, Florida, and raised in Bryceville, Mary graduated from Callahan High School in 1956. She was a talented businesswoman, owning two ventures: Mary Coiffures and Mary's Hair Care. In 1967, she moved to West Palm Beach where she opened Mary's Coiffure's. When Bobby retired from Florida Highway Patrol, they returned home to Bryceville in 1992, and later making her way back to West Palm Beach in 2014, where she lived the remainder of her life.

As a beautician for over 30 years, Mary touched many lives with her artistry and kindness. She was actively involved in her church community, always welcoming those around her with open arms and a warm heart. Mary had a unique ability to make everyone feel special; to know her was to love her.

A courageous three-time breast cancer survivor, Mary faced her battles with grace and dignity. We find peace in knowing she is now in the arms of Jesus, exactly where she wanted to be.

Mary's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved, and she will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Bryceville Baptist Church at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour before services. There will be a private burial at Verdie cemetery.
