Funeral services for Marjorie Peeler Carnall (88) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Baldwin First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Pope officiating. The interment will be held at 1:30 PM in Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida. Mrs. Carnall was born September 23, 1924 in Memphis, Tennessee, daughter of the late Claude Peeler and the former Lottie Dobson. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 1, 2013. On December 19, 1946, she married Col. Jack E. Carnall in Honolulu, Hawaii. She served with the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay. In 1984, she was recognized by the American Business Women's Association as Gainesville Woman of the Year. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, The Daytona Damsels, and The Lions Club. She served as an honoree at the Baldwin Relay for Life. She was an active member of Baldwin First United Methodist Church for many years. Marjorie loved the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow. Mrs. Carnall was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Jack E. Carnall and son, J.T. Carnall. Her survivors include: daughter, Susan Carnall-Neary; son, Jim (Susan) Carnall and daughter in law, Candace Carnall; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie's wishes were for donations to be made to Baldwin First United Methodist Church, 51 Chestnut Street South Baldwin, FL 32234.
