Funeral Services for Loran Theodore Johns (75) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11 am, Saturday, at the Church of God of Prophecy (1862 Fouraker Road, Jacksonville, Florida) with Rev. Joe Muse officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will immediately follow in Conner Cemetery, Raiford, Florida. Mr. Johns was born on November 14, 1939 in Raiford, Florida, son of the late Theodore M. Johns and the former Ida Lee Griffis. He passed away following a brief illness on July 29, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. Loran was an avid supporter of the University of Florida athletic teams, particularly the football team. He was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy and, in retirement, helped many of his neighbors by driving them to appointments and on shopping trips. He was an excellent cook and his fried fish was a favorite of family and friends. He was always ready to go fishing, travel to visit his brothers and sisters, and spend time with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, speaking of them with much love and affection. Loran is survived by: son, Michael A. Johns; daughter, Lorna R. Johns; two grandchildren, Chelsey Lannette Shields and Chance Christian Johns; two brothers; six sisters; numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive family and friends immediately following the interment at the home of Jean Harding in Raiford, Florida.
