Funeral services for Leonard Hubert Crews, (78) of Palatka, Florida will be held 2:00P.M., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Temple Baptist Church located on 485 North Halsema Road, Jacksonville, Florida, with Rev. Robert J. "Bob" Galantine, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Sellers Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday, April 16, 2007 at the church. Mr. Crews was born January 19, 1929 in Baker County, Florida, son of the late Acie Roger Crews and the former Gertrude Taylor-Crews. He passed away April 13, 2007 in Putnam County Medical Center, Palatka, Florida following a brief illness. As a long time resident of the Putnam County area, he was an avid fisherman. A concrete paver by trade, he built runways for the military in Viet Nam during the war. Survivors include: Seven Children, Donna Kay (Eddie) Wilson, Lynda (Michael) Fraser, Roger (Nancy) Crews, Ray Crews, Norma Jean (Donald) Bell, Linda (O.J.) Bell and Larry (Connie) Harrison; Sister, Barbara Price; Fourteen Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: Wife, Dora Johnson Crews; Brother, James (Buster) Crews; Two Sisters, Ferrice Johnson and June Joseph. Arrangements entrusted to R. Vance Prestwood, L.F.D.
