Laura Marie Jones, born on October 3, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away February 18, 2026, following a brief illness. Laura, who was known for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and friends, leaves behind cherished memories and an enduring legacy.

Laura was raised in a loving household by her parents, Josephine and Elwood Ogilvie. She graduated from Ribault High School in 1964 and dedicated 40 years of her life to serving with Blue Cross, where she made lasting impacts through her commitment and expertise.

Throughout her life, Laura found joy in a multitude of activities. She held a deep appreciation for her faith and was an active member of Baldwin First United Methodist Church. Family trips were a highlight of her life, and exploring antique stores across Florida was among her passions. Laura had a special talent for preparing delicious meals that brought her loved ones together, an expression of her love and care. Additionally, she had a fondness for Roseville Pottery, sharing her enthusiasm for this beautiful art with those close to her.

Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Van R. Jones; her mother, Josephine; her father, Elwood Ogilvie; and her brother, Elwood Junior. She is survived by her son, Jason Jones, and daughter-in-law, Patricia (Conn), who will carry her memory and love forward.

Visitation will be held on February 26, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at First Church of Baldwin, located at 51 South Chestnut Street, Baldwin, FL 32234. The service will honor Laura's life and the profound impact she had on those who knew her.
