Kevin Scott Waits

Mr. Kevin Scott Waits, age 49 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. Mr. Waits was born in Kentucky and grew up in Florida, attending Baldwin High School and the First Baptist Church of Baldwin.  He was a sports enthusiast; having played baseball as a shortstop and a pitcher and an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.  Mr. Waits built and installed swimming pools and loved being active and enjoying life. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed music; particularly country and gospel, loved fishing and watching western movies. He was a loving son and brother and a dedicated father.  Mr. Waits is survived by his son:  James Waits of Jacksonville; mother: Peggy West of Waynesburg, KY;  brother: Matthew (Ann) Waits of Jacksonville; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: John Waits; sister: Johnnie Bowers; and niece: Gracie Waits. A celebration of his life will be held 3:30pm, Monday, January 14, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church, Baldwin, Florida with Pastor Dewayne Jowers officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to Prestwood Funeral Home, Baldwin. 904-266-0072.
