Funeral services for Joseph Franklin Pope "Jack" (78) of Callahan, Florida will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Marietta Church of God (8076 Ramona Blvd.) with Pastor William Wooten and Pastor Terry Qualls officiating. The interment will follow in Jones Cemetery, Callahan, Florida. Mr. Pope was born May 23, 1930 in Alma, Georgia, son of the late Claude Danish Pope and the former Bertie Abigale Deen. He passed away July 27, 2008 in Jacksonville, Florida following a brief illness. Mr. Pope was a Korean Conflict Veteran and a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Marietta Church of God. In addition to his Wife, Frances Lucile Pope, survivors include: Two Sons, Ricky (Pam) and Bryan (Wendy) Pope; Two Step-Daughters, Janice and Lisa; Three Step-Sons, Gary, Steve and Keith; Three Granddaughters, Krista Pope, Jordan Pope and Dana (Curtis) Higginbotham; One Grandson, Joshua Pope; Two Great-Granddaughters, Kelsey Pope and Summer Rue; Three Great-Grandsons, Lane Rue, Landon Higginbotham and Clay Higginbotham; Four Sisters, Gladys, Doris, Helen and Cora; Numerous Family and Friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home.
