Joseph Jerry Harrell

October 18, 1939 — July 2, 2024

Mr. Joseph Jerry Harrell went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born in Fort Myers, Florida to the late Presley B.  and Nadine Henderson Harrell. Mr. Harrell attended Wesconnett High School in Jacksonville, became a carpenter by trade and was a member of Carpenter's Local #627. In his youth he was an avid hog hunter; loved hunting with his uncles and cousins and raised hogs for many years. He also enjoyed going fishing. Having naturally mastered the "art of the deal", Mr. Harrell loved going to flea markets and thrift stores to find and make deals. He could talk to anyone and never met a stranger. In 1980 he accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a longtime active member of Clay Hill Church of God. He loved his mother and father and aunts and uncles very much and always enjoyed attending family reunions. He loved his sons, taught them to work skillfully with their hands from a very young age and instilled in them the value of hard work. He will be missed. Mr. Harrell is survived by his sons: Ben (Sheryl) Harrell of Jacksonville, Phillip (Tammy) Harrell of Lawtey, and Jason (Lynn) Harrell of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Phyllis Knight of Locust Grove, GA, Christina Harrell of Jacksonville, Joseph (Danielle) Harrell of Middleburg, Brandy (Benny) Turner of Orange Park, April Harrell of Jacksonville, Jason "Bubba" Harrell of Jacksonville, and Clayton (Shelly) Harrell of Maxville; twenty greatgrandchildren, and sister: Joyce (Johnny) Ammons of Fort Myers, Florida. He was preceded by his parents, granddaughter: Salina Nichols, grandson: Matthew Harrell, brother: Presley Eugene "Buddy" Harrell and sister: Patsy Nadine Scott. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, July 13, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverend Edward Dixon officiating. Interment will follow the service at 2:00pm at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, Madison, Florida. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am, the day of the service at the funeral home. Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin is honored to serve the Harrell family.
