Funeral services for Johnny Edward Sikes (76) of Callahan, Florida will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with pastor Ronnie Williams and pastor Rusty Bryan. The interment will immediately follow in Emmaus Cemetery, St. George, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Sikes was born on November 11, 1934 in Callahan, FL, son of the late Jessie Edward Sikes and the former Nettie Batten. He passed away on January 2, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL following a lengthy illness. His survivors include: two daughters, Wanda (Buddy) McKinnon and Jonnie Sikes; son, Pat Rowe; four grandchildren, Jessica (Robert) Sieg, Jacob Roberts, Rebecca Ray and Tonya (Lee) Padgett; three brothers, Robert (Shirley) Sikes, Jimmy (Sarah) Sikes and Barney (Dot) Sikes; ten great grandchildren; numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by: granddaughter, Christy Peavy; eighteen brothers and sisters. Those serving as pallbearers include: Lee Padgett, Robert Sieg, Jacob Roberts, Zach Roberts, Caleb Sieg and Collin Sieg. Honorary pallbearers include: Hunter Ray, Jody Sikes and Murland Sikes.
