John Olin Jeffers

JEFFERS- John Olin Jeffers (73) of Orange Park, Florida, passed away on May 14, 2017 in Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. He was born on November 15, 1943 in Orange Park, Florida, son of the late John W.A Jeffers and the former Rebecca Skeen. Mr. Jeffers was a Civil Construction worker by trade, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing cars in his spare time. He volunteered to fight for his country during the beginning of the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. He served bravely for four tours during Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Jeffers is survived by his son, Korey (Danielle) Jeffers; one grandchild, Trinity Jeffers; sister, Myrtle Harris; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Coy Jeffers. Memorialization will be by cremation.
