John Daniel Hicks Jr. (JD), 79, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026. Born on February 27, 1947, to Ruby and John Hicks Sr, JD will be remembered for his constant jokes and pranks, love of football, and his strong work ethic.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Mansfield Hicks; his daughter, Cody Johnson and her wife, Renee Johnson; his grandchildren, Silas, Sawyer, and Salem Johnson; his step-children, including Paul Williams (son Jayden & daughter Jenna), Jonathan Williams (wife Christina, son Austin), and Heather Williams.

Per JD’s request, there will be no formal services. Those wishing to honor his memory are invited to raise a glass with friends or perform a random act of kindness in his honor.
