Biography

McAbee- Graveside services for JoAnn Black McAbee of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 23, 2006 in Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Chris Drum of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin officiating. Mrs. McAbee was born July 20, 1936 in Union County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Julius Baxter and the former Annie Selina Williams. She passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to her husband of 53 years, James "Sonny" McAbee, she is survived by: Three Daughters, Kathy (Steve) Porter, Robin (Tony) Burnett, Jamie (Ray) Adkins; Son, Ricky (Michelle) McAbee; Eleven Grandchildren, Aubrey, Michael, Patricia, David, Jennifer, Joseph, Justin, Daniel, James, Joshua, and Jeremy; Eight Great Grandchildren; Two Brothers, Billy (Sharon) Black, Baxter (Betty) Black; two Sisters, Maude McCutcheon, and Jeannie Rogess. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jerimiah McAbee. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to R. Vance Prestwood, L.F.D. (904) 266-0072.
