Joan Nettles

Funeral services for Joan Erdie Nettles (75) of Bryceville, Florida will be held 7 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with pastor Charles Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Joan was born on November 9, 1939 in Raeford, North Carolina daughter of the late Johnny Hollingsworth and the former Cora Belle Norton. She passed away on April 3, 2015 following a lengthy illness. In addition to her husband of 49 years, Verlon Nettles, Sr., survivors include: two daughters, Pamela (Ralph) Sotolongo and Robin (James) Whittle; son, Wade Nettles, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Grab, James Mull, Natasha (Jared) Rider and P.J. Brosette; five great grandchildren, Fletcher, Milo, Oliver, Isabella and Hannah; brother, Johnnie (Betty) Hollingsworth; two sisters, Francis (McNeil) Canady and Shirley (Carlton) Britt; numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Nettles and sister, Maybell Higgins.
