Funeral services for Jessie Mae Sweat (94) of Jacksonville, FL will be held 11 am, Friday, September 13, 2013 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Dr. Noel Roberts officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Long Branch Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Sweat was born on November 3, 1918 in Bradford County, FL, daughter of the late William Jesse Chesser and the former Rebecca Wilkinson. She passed away on September 10, 2013. Her survivors include: daughter, Rena Strickland; four grandchildren, Jerry Hayes, David Hayes, Bryan Hayes and Cynthia (Preston) White; six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Sweat. Those serving as pallbearers include: Jerry Hayes, Bobby Ponting, Steve Gibson, Jerry Yount, Floyd Howell, Kevin Howell, Hon. Thomas White and Hon. Curtis Nugett
