RHODEN – Funeral services for Jesse Merle Rhoden (91) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with pastors Bronson Clemens and Dr. John Montgomery officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Riverside Memorial Park with pastor Danny O'Neal officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. NAVY honor guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Mr. Rhoden was born on April 22, 1924 in Charlton County, Georgia, son of the late Matthew Rhoden and the former Sallie Snowden. He passed away on September 30, 2015 following a lengthy illness. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Myrtice Rhoden, survivors include: three daughters, Edna Earle (Les) Ditchek, Melissa (Doug) Coaker and Mechele (Clint) Stokes; sister, Gladys Lowens; son in law, Carl Nobles; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Merlene Nobles. Those serving as pallbearers include: Christopher Coaker, Joshua Coaker, John-Philip Getz, Matthew Nobles, Cody Stokes and Daniel McEachern.
