Funeral services for Jerry Eugene "Gene" Walding, Sr. (78) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2011, in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will immediately follow in Riverside Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Mr. Walding was born on May 25, 1932, in Black, Alabama to the late Mason Walding and the former Queenie Victoria Arnold. He passed away on January 6, 2011, following a brief illness. He was a Master Mason and a two term Worshipful Master of Temple Lodge in Jacksonville, as well as an honorary member of several lodges in the 11th and 12th districts. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite, the York Rite, and the Mystical Shrine. He is survived by: 2 daughters, Susan (Jonathan) Jordan and Jackie Walding; 5 grandchildren, Randy Walding, Rex Walding, Dustin Walding, Jared Jordan and Brittany Jordan; numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Walding and son, Jerry Walding. Those serving as pallbearers include: Jonathan Jordan, Jared Jordan, David Walding, Carl Thorwart, Ted Brock, Mike Vickers. Honorary pallbearers include: Frank Keen and Max Walding. ) 266-0072
