Jerry L. Jacobs Sr.

Mr. Jerry L. Jacobs Sr., age 69 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018.  Mr. Jacobs was a very down to earth man who loved his family. He enjoyed riding horses and going fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren.  Mr. Jacobs was an excellent auto mechanic. He was employed by Florida Powertrain for many years and was a self-employed shop owner for a time. Jerry was the son of the late Lester Elijah Jacobs and Annie Ophelia Sapp Jacobs.  He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Jacobs; daughters: Carolyn Jacobs and Lisa Thomas, both of Glen St. Mary; sisters: Barbara Pounds, Alice (Garland) Whaley, Loretta (John) Sanford, all of Jacksonville, and Annie (Wayne) Dill of Keystone Heights; brother Donnie (Teresa) Jacobs of Glen St. Mary; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son: Jerry L. Jacobs Jr., grandson: Steven Thomas Jr., and brother: Ronnie Jacobs. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in the Prestwood Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Garland Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
