SULLIVAN – James Eugene Sullivan, also known as "Sully," of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on December 5, 2007 at the age of 79. A native of Olean, NY, Jim resided in Jacksonville since 1979. The Florida weather allowed Jim to work in his yard which was one of his favorite pastimes. He also dearly loved his dogs, Chelsi, Kiki and Toko, and enjoyed taking them for walks and bike rides.
Jim was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and loving husband. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran in addition to being a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. Jim is survived by his supportive wife of 61 years, Bonnie, and six children: James (Kathryn) of Edmunds, WA, Stephen (Sarah) of Middleburg, FL, Paul (Mary Margaret) of Eldred, PA, Debra Casey (Jerry) of Elkton, FL, Shawn of Powell's Point, NC, and Ann of Atlanta, GA. Jim has a sister, Rose Mary Hidy, who resides in Arizona. Jim's death was preceded by one grandchild, Kevin Paul Sullivan, and has six surviving grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church located at 8523 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210. The mass will be held on December 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. A memorial mass and burial service will be held at St. Raphael's Cemetery at a later date in Eldred, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be mailed to The Kevin Sullivan Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 109, Eldred, PA 16731 or to the charity of your choice.
