Memorial Services for James Michael Abernathy (56) of Jacksonville, Florida will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2009 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Brother Gore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Abernathy was born May 1, 1953 in Gadsden, Alabama, son of the late James Curtis Abernathy and the former Ellen King. He passed away May 24, 2009 in MacClenny, Florida following a lengthy illness. Mr. Abernathy is survived by: Son, Gary (Jessi) Abernathy; Granddaughter, Kaylen Abernathy; Sister, Sandy (Steve) Parsons; Two Brothers, Curtis (Sandy) and Paul (Mia) Abernathy.
