Funeral services for Hazel Lavon Lucas (83) of Baldwin, FL will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drum officiating. The interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville, Fl. Mrs. Lucas was born January 31, 1924 in Pierson, GA, the daughter of the late Noel Hill and the former Georgia A. Bennett, she passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 in Jacksonville, FL following a brief illness. A resident of Baldwin for 67 years, she graduated from Baldwin High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin. She is survived by: Two Daughters, Pam Smith and Iva Sue (Vernon) Harris; Three Grandsons, Jeffrey (Eli) Smith, Brett (Tracy) Harris and Darren (Marley) Harris; Six Great Grandchildren, Colby, Bayli, Brenn, Colton, Bella and Zoe. Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her husband, Ivey M. Lucas. Serving as pallbearers: Jeffrey Smith, Brett Harris, Darren Harris, Scott Newsom, Rob Keen, Melvin Smith and Adam Crews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home.
