Retired Navy Master Chief, Harry L. Kelley, age 80 of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021. A longtime Jacksonville resident, Mr. Kelley was born in Kansas to the late Robert and Zelda Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a proud and patriotic United States Navy Veteran, having served in Vietnam during his thirty years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was stationed on the USS Nimitz. He spent over thirty years as a drug and alcohol counselor and touched and encouraged many lives over those years. Mr. Kelley was an exceptional father to all his children and loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid bowler as well as a bowling coach. Mr. Kelley was an avid fan of Kansas Jayhawks basketball and L. A. Dodgers baseball and enjoyed attending the Blue Angels airshows. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years: Phyllis Kelley of Jacksonville; daughters: Michelle Kelley, Dana Stabler, Sandra Allen, Ann Waits, and Martha Tulp all of Jacksonville; sons: Mike Taylor of Eastman, GA, James Taylor and Steve Allen, both of Jacksonville; fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy, granddaughter Gracie, and first wife Jean Kelley. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Funeral Services of Baldwin with Reverend Winson Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place 10:00am, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
