George Raymond Jones

Mr.  George Raymond Jones, age 86 of Bryceville, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Born in Jacksonville to the late John Q. Jones and Lillian M. Roberson Jones, he was a Bryceville resident for most of his life. Mr. Jones was a United States Marine Corps veteran and was proud to have served his country. Working in the shipping industry, Mr. Jones was employed by Clerks and Checkers Local 1593 for thirty-six years and for a time, served as president and business agent.  He was a devout Christian man. Mr. Jones enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years: Gloria Delaine Jones of Bryceville; sons: George Raymond Jones Jr. of California, Jason Carl (Julie) Jones, Robert Drew (Tracy) Jones all of Bryceville, and Jonathan Lane (Amy) Jones of Tennessee; grandchildren: Christy, Tommy, Curtis, Zachary, Austin, Katelyn, and Jon; and sister: Vivian Ortega of Middleburg and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter: Tammy Babich. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Monday, February 7, 2022, at Brandy Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Deryle Adkison officiating. Interment will follow at Brandy Branch Cemetery.
