GRIFFIN – Funeral Services for Donald "Don" Griffin (77) of Jacksonville, FL will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Brother Jamie Rhoden officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Mr. Griffin was born February 19, 1931 in Waycross, Georgia, son of the late William G. Griffin and the former Susie Strickland. He passed away peacefully in his home following a lengthy illness on April 24, 2008. Mr. Griffin entered the United States Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1956; he later became a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 673. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Sandra, he is survived by: Daughter, Donna K. Jones; Son, Ricky L. Griffin; Grandsons, Brandon, Nicholas and Cody; Granddaughter Savannah; Great-Granddaughter Emma; Three Sisters; Two Brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
